Bulldogs fall to Indians, 3-2, in tough battle
FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went to 2-2-1 on the season with a disappointing loss to the Itawamba Community College Indians, 3-2.
J.M. Webster led the Bulldogs with two goals. The first goal came in the 57th minutes on an assist from Eric Ryan. His next goal was minutes later on an assist from Logan Jones. Tyler Catchot had six saves on six shots on goal while Zac Bond had four saves in seven shots on goal.
On September 9 in Summit, the Bulldogs tied with the Bears of Southwest Mississippi Community College, 1-1. J.T. Coward scored on an assist from Mark Bright in the 37th minute.
The Bulldogs defeated the Bears in Ridgeland on September 4, 5-1. J.M. Webster scored in the 42nd minute on an assist from Logan Jones. Mac Orr scored in the 43rd minute. J.T. Coward scored his first of two goals in the 58th minute on assists from J.M. Webster and Jason Brent. His second can in the 84th minute on a goal from J.T. Coward. Bryce Williams scored a goal in the 84th minute.
On Sept. 1, the Bulldogs lost a heartbreaker to the Wolves of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, 3-2. J.M. Webster scored on an assist from Sonny Browning and Logan Jones added the other Bulldog goal.
In the season opener, the Bulldogs racked up nine goals in a win over East Central Community College as the Bulldogs won 9-1 in Ridgeland. Logan Jones and Sonny Browning each had two goals in the contest. Jones` first one came in the 20th minute on an assist from Charles Whorton while the other one came in the 63rd minute. Browning scored in the 70th minute and in the 81st minute on an assist from Chaz Guerra. Zach Gayle, J.T. Coward, J.M. Webster, Tyler Brown, Jason Brent and Drew Hille. Gayle scored in the 23rd minute on an assist from Guerra; Coward in the 31st minute; Webster in the 40th mninute; Brown in the 47th minute on an assist from Jaems Coward; Brent in the 63rd minute; and Hille in the 74th minute on an assist from Sonny Browning.
