HOLMES COMMUNITY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2009 RECRUITING CLASS
Holmes Community College has announced its initial signings for it 2009 recruiting class. Eighteen student-athletes have made commitments to attend Holmes in the Fall. The recruiting class includes thirteen incoming freshman that qualified for either Mississippi High School Activities Association or Mississippi Private School Association post-season play. The group his highlighted with one player from MPSA semi finalist Pillow Academy Mustangs, three players from 5A MHSAA semi finalist Northwest Rankin Cougars, one player from MPSA finalist Washington Generals and three players from the 5A MHSAA State Champion Clinton Arrows. Overall the recruiting class includes eight incoming freshman that finished in the Clarion Ledger’s final rankings.
Head coach Matt Convertino’s had this to say about his recruiting class.
“This recruiting has got me really excited about ’09! It fills all of the gaps by our departing players and makes us as good, if not better at every position on the field. This recruiting class represents the buzz that not only our soccer program, but our Ridgeland Campus is making in the community.
Our enrollment at Holmes continues to sky-rocket. We are cost-effective, convenient, and from an educational perspective our programs provide a great product. In today’s economy, Mississippi families are recognizing and placing more and more value on what we have to offer.
I appreciate our incoming freshman and transfer students for buying in to my vision of what this team can become and look forward to working with them all in the Fall.”
